Next, The Covenant created an obscure trail of clues for Sydney to follow. They sent a code to Arvin Sloane, which was forged to resemble Sydney's handwriting. This lead Sydney to an apartment in Rome and another code, which lead her to the severed hand of Andrian Lazarey, leading her to Lazarey, who lead both her and The Covenant to the artefact. Whilst Sydney managed to secure the artefact from Julian Sark, the DSR transport carrying it was ambushed by The Covenant, and the artefact was stolen. Sydney ultimately destroyed it with a flamethrower on the counter-mission.

The Covenant's next plan was to gain the co-operation of Arvin Sloane, now the directot of world relief organisation omnifam. To do this, The Covenant recruited a master thief Simon Walker and his team, which included Julia Thorne, Sydney's cover, to steal the Ebola virus, and then the technology to modify it. Sydney was unable to stop The Covenant as Michael Vaughn had been stabbed and this was her priority. Julian Sark used the modified virus to kill every guard and inmate at a prison, except Kazari Bomani. Bomani was arrested and placed in jail due to Sloane's intel, and once free immediately abducted Sloane, who agreed to work for The Covenant and allowed them to use Omnifam resources

This article refers to a major
Terrorist Organization

The Covenant was a major terrorist organisation set up by Elena Derevko in order to secretly acquire Rambaldi artefacts. Jack Bristow stated, "The Covenant is a loose affiliation of Russian nationalists, mainly composed of retired KGB and former Central Committee members", who were all dedicated to the new world envisioned by Milo Rambaldi.

The Covenant is a large, powerful, and secretive intelligence/terrorist organization.  It was a "loose affiliation of Russian nationalists" composed of retired KGB and former Central Committee members, all dedicated to the new world envisioned by Milo Rambaldi. It functioned much like an organized crime family. At one point, it had six cell leaders, until Julian Sark and Lauren Reed (a double agent in the U.S. National Security Council and Michael Vaughn's ex-wife) assassinated them in a bid for power. The Covenant had secured Sark's release to gain access to his wealth as a Romanov descendant. McKenas Cole had somehow managed to secure his own release and was now the second most powerful individual in the Covenant.

Season 4

In season 4, the Covenant has disappeared as a threat and Sark later referred to the "implosion of the Covenant." Elena's new headquarters, based in Prague, was eventually raided and Elena managed to escape.
