Chase presided over Sydney's court hearing that sentenced her to work a desk job at Langley, which was actually a cover for her work with Authorized Personnel Only. Chase later showed Sydney around APO upon first arrival, and explained that although Arvin Sloane was the head, which Sydney was extremely shocked about, Sydney and Dixon, amongst others, could keep their eye on him (Authorized Personnel Only, Part 1).
